Caves vary dramatically in their appearance based almost exclusively on the type of rocks the caves are located in. Limestone caves are usually very ornate in their formations, whereas lava tubes and undersea caves are usually quite plain as they are lacking the décor that results from caves that are in limestone or dolomite where dripping water flowing over the sides of the cave walls, or evaporation and capillary action result in very ornate décor as a result of mineral rich water entering the cane environment.
