ExpeditionQuest’s VENUS

VENUS : Voice Energized News Update System

EQ’s VENUS system enables registered expeditions to send news updates to their own ExpeditionQuest website using a cell or satphone from anywhere on earth. After an expedition identifies itself with it’s own ID and PIN numbers, an audio file is saved and transferred to their website where students and EQ members can hear the latest news.
Transmissions are posted within two minutes producing a virtually live update.

Expeditions can also choose to have the news update sent to EQ’s news editors and registered reporters and journalists.

Each registered expedition has complete control over their information on the website including the ability to delete and edit the audio file. If the expedition team is in the field without computer access, an administrator at home can manage the news and content for the project.

Registered reporters and journalists can subscribe to the VENUS system to receive expedition updates as they occur, and reporters may also submit their own interviews and news articles in audio format to ExpeditionQuest news and other editors as well.

Sending an Audio Update using VENUS involves the following steps:

A) Call ExpeditionQuest at 360-668-0580 (United States). You might need to use the international dialing code (001) if calling from outside the USA.
